10 things

Although I enjoy pregnancy, it lasts too long. I am ready to be "me" again. So I decided to make a list. Here are the top 10 things I am looking forward to in regards to not being pregnant anymore.

1. Bending over easily
2. Putting on my own socks
3. Just getting up off the couch, instead of it being a big production
4. My carpel tunnel is supposed to go away
5. Not running my belly into things (sorry Liam)
6. Sleeping on my back
7. Sleeping on my stomach
8. Not peeing every hour
9. I will be able to fit my wedding ring on again
10. My entire belly will actually fit into my shirts again

I will miss feeling Liam moving inside me. Although his movements are often painful now, the sensation of a baby moving is amazing. Definitely my favorite part about pregnancy.

So here's hoping for a good nights sleep. Our son will be joining our family in less than 12 hours. :)

I will be texting updates when I can, so be sure to check the blog tomorrow!

Growing up by the minute!

Last night, Reagan went upstairs by herself. After a few minutes (when I didn't hear anything), I went up to see what she was doing. Thats when I found her on the potty! She had taken off her pants and her diaper. She got her potty seat out, put it on, and climbed onto the toilet. The most shocking part was that she actually peed!!!!! Then, about 15 minutes later, she did it again! She peed on the potty again this morning! WOOOOO-HOOOOO!

We haven't really been pushing potty training. Everything I have read said that the most successful way to potty train is to let your child be the guide. So thats the approach we have taken. We will ask her if she wants to sit on the potty, if she does great, if she doesn't we don't push it.

She is definitely showing us that she is ready to start "officially" training! She picked the perfect time, since I will be home with her and Liam.

She just keeps growing up...

The plan

The plan is set:

Friday, October 1st @ 9:30 am

My doctor actually isn't "supposed" to be there until the afternoon. She is coming in early just for Liam and I! How nice of her.

Although a c-section wasn't my intent, I am perfectly ok with it. As long as he arrives safely, I don't care how he gets here!

I will text an update and photo after his grand entrance. I am starting the final countdown until we are officially Wade party of 4!

Ugh

FYI- I have started charging $5 for any stupid question related to my pregnancy. So be warned, questions like "you're still pregnant?!?" are going to cost you!

I had my last doctor's appointment before my due date today. Overall, it was disappointing. It doesn't seem like Liam is going to come out on his own. Although he is "lower", nothing else is really changing or progressing. Since I am trying for a VBAC, going much past my due date is a no-no. So here are the options: schedule a c-section now or wait until my next appointment. The next appointment is actually one day past my due date.

So I am *pretty sure* that we are going to schedule a c-section for Friday. I am just done. I know things are not going to be "easy" once Liam is born, but I am ready. I am mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted. I am so tired of waking up in the morning and hoping to have a baby, only to go to bed at night still pregnant. I am not a patient person. And I hate surprises.

So I guess we are going to plan for 10-1-10, unless he decides to join us before then. I will post the details (time and such) when I know them. Otherwise, I welcome any suggestions you have for starting labor!

So close

The end of my pregnancy is so close, yet feels so far away. Liam officially has 11 days until his due date. Of course, looming in the back of my head is the fact that with Reagan my water broke 10 days early (at 5:30 pm) and she was technically born 9 days early (at 12:24 am) . So in my opinion, that means Liam should arrive then or earlier. You know, the myth is that first babies are always late... so if late for me is 9 days early, then I better have him early too! So if he arrived on Saturday, I would be beyond thrilled. But at this point in the game, I have run out of steam. I have run out of patience. I have run out of energy. I am trying to "enjoy" these last few days... but really, how can you?!
So to remain optomistic, I am attempting to focus on the following things:
1. Elephants are pregnant for 22 months. I am super glad I am not an elephant.
2. Liam is getting healthier each day, I want him to be "fully cooked" and arrive when he is ready.
3. Life is definitely easier now. Adding baby #2 is going to be adjustment and I don't even really know what expect.
4. I have had a complication free pregnancy and really am still doing very well (by medical standards that is).
And of course, I am not thinking at all about... how much weight I've gained, how many stretch marks I have, how swollen my feet are, none of my shirts fully cover my belly, or how with every step I take I just hope that my water breaks! I won't even mention that its a full moon.
I am definitely that watch-pot that never seems to boil...

Enjoying the fall evenings

There is a park near our house that we love to visit. It is usually totally empty and Reagan can just have her run of the place. Its so nice to go in the cool evenings and run around for a while.

The swings are a big favorite! She would probably swing the entire time we were there if we let her.

The part that makes mommy crazy is that Reagan has no fear. She just runs and climbs, you know, like a kid! But she gets herself up too high and I am terrified that she will fall and get some sort of a serious injury. Therefore, daddy has to closely supervise! She gets above my head and out of reach quickly.

He's a big boy!

For a while, my OB has suspected that Liam was breech. As you recall, my little darling Reagan was a breech baby who forced me to have a c-section. So I wasn't really shocked to hear the news and just kept thinking "stubborn like his sister".

On Friday, I had an ultrasound to confirm his position. We were so excited to find out that he is NOT breech. In fact, as soon as she put the wand at the bottom of my belly, we could see his face and his chubby cheeks. Everything looked great. I was secretly nervous that she was going to say we were having a girl... but nope! Still a boy!! We got to see him breathing, blinking his eyes, and opening his mouth. Even on a grainy screen in black and white, he is adorable. He looked so chubby. And with good reason, the tech estimated his weight at 36 weeks 4 days to be 7lbs 9oz!! Holy moly! I know they can be off, in fact my OB said they are usually off by 1/2 lb. But still, we have 3 weeks left! I don't think we are going to be having a little boy. No wonder my belly is so gigantic!

I will add the ultrasound pics later. I am way to lazy to switch computers and scan them right now. :)

Waiting for Liam...

Although we have been preparing for Liam's arrival for a while, the official countdown has begun! I have reached the point when my doctor will not stop my labor if he decides he is ready to come. Although he should cook for a little while longer, I would be happy to have him any day now!

I had my 36 week appointment today. My doctor still suspects that Liam is breech! I have an ultrasound on Friday to confirm his position. I am super excited to get to see him! If he is breech, my first step will be to go to the chiropractor. Based on the ultrasound results, we will discuss the option of having a version at my next appointment. However, today, my OB didn't seem to think I am a very good candidate to try a version. I have a lot working against me- I'm short, have had a c-section, and it seems like Liam is going to be a "good-sized" baby. My belly is measuring 38 weeks (2 weeks ahead). My OB was estimating that he weighs about 6 1/2 pounds right now, although she said that could be really inaccurate. Looks like he will definitely be bigger than his sister! Although, he is following in her breech baby footsteps.

So for now, I am trying some weird ideas I found online for turning a breech baby and I am preparing myself for the definite possibility of a repeat c-section. But until the day comes, I will just be hoping that he flips himself around! As long as he arrives safely, I don't care how he gets here.

Regardless, less than 4 weeks until we meet our darling boy!

Supervision required

Reagan loves lotion. She will help herself to any bottle of it within reach. She helps me put it on my legs every morning (which is especially helpful lately!). But her portion size is a bit large and she will continue to pump more until the bottle is put away. Too much is not even enough in her eyes! As a result, we keep all of the lotions out of reach. Well... we try to.

Daddy and I were cleaning and Reagan was in the other room (never safe). Obviously this was an occasion of a lotion bottle within reach! Dry skin is definitely not a concern!
