The bathroom remodel

When we bought our house 4 years ago, we knew it was in desperate need of updating. All the houses in our price range were. So we bought our house and began the HUGE list of projects. Slowly we have been completing them; the easy and cheap ones first. On Thursday, the big bathroom remodel began.

We only have 1 bathroom. It was hideous (see below) and didn't have a shower. But since we have a nice shower in the basement, we just dealt with it. I decided that the bathroom HAD to be fixed before Liam is here. I need to be able to get ready- shower, get dressed, etc.- all in one location.

It should be finished up this Tuesday or Wednesday. I could not be more excited!

Here is the progress so far....

I call this phase "A HUGE MESS"

Here is the bathroom before the remodel began. You can clearly see; its in need of some help.

We are getting all new everything, except the toilet. There will be a new sink/vanity, new (and huge) medicine cabinet, a tub and shower, and the closet door with be a bi-fold door instead of opening out into the room. It will be so nice. I'll keep you updated on the progress.

breakfast convo

This is the conversation Reagan had with herself at breakfast this morning.

She was buttering a piece of toast.

"Don't eat butter. You can if you want to. Ok, I try it. Mmmmm. Now put it on the toast Reaggies." Then she continued buttering. After a few minutes she said "I just try a little bit again".

I love that she was saying the things I probably would have said, only I was not actually part of her little convo. She is such a chatterbug.

Born to Rock!!

Reagan was born with music in her blood. Definitely daddy's doing since I have no musical talent at all! She loves to sing, dance, and play any kind of instrument. The other night, after her bath, she found the 'kitar' for playing guitar hero. So of course we had to try it out...

It was hilarious. I don't know the song (no musical abilities, remember) but it was some Kiss song. She was singing all the words to "This Old Man" to the beat of the song. When it was daddy's turn to play, she was dancing around like a maniac! She had a blast.

Music is definitely going to be a part of her future.

Our first road trip

I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted an update from the Wade fam! Oops.

Last weekend we survived our first road trip with Reagan! We went to Charlotte, NC for my friend Shannon's wedding. I was super nervous about the journey. I was really unsure how Reagan would behave in the car for an 8 hour trip. To my surprise, she was FABULOUS! I sat in the backseat with her. We had snacks, played toys, and watched DVDs. I was so proud of how well she did.

We got to Charlotte last Friday evening. Immediately after checking in we had to check out the pool. Reagan LOVED swimming. She is such a fish. She didn't want us to hold onto her at all. So on Saturday morning, we went to Walmart and bought a suit with floaties in it. Then she could swim by herself.

On Saturday night, we went to the wedding. It rained earlier in the day, which made the temperature more bearable! It was past dinner time and then past bedtime, but Reagan was such a trooper.

We had a wonderful trip! I can't say I am ready to travel with 2 kids, but I am definitely looking forward to our next little family vacation.

My friends from KSU and I at the reception.
Reagan's new suit. I love the sunscreen hair!!

Taking a swim break for some snacks.
Wearing mommy's sunglasses in the pool.

The Wade fam at the wedding reception. Reagan was so hot and tired; I was thankful we packed an emergency paci!
This picture should be first-- Reagan's first time getting in the pool with daddy.

big bed and big belly

Reagan's big girl furniture arrived last week!!! For now, we are just reading books in the bed and she is still sleeping in the crib. However, we will be transitioning her out of the crib before Liam's arrival in a few months.

And in belly news... Liam is going to be a big boy I can just feel it! Here "we" are last week (26 weeks).
